Well, this is what I needed a drink for...

Reggae SoundClash: Soundquake vs. Supersonic. Two Soundsystems battle each other on stage, to win the award...

All images here: Click (external link)

I entered the hall rather late (intentionally), so the party was allready in full swing.
I started off on the balcony, to get a feel for the night.

#1: Overview. The crowd liked it:

#2: Since I wanted a bit more 'intimacy', I went onto the floor:
Not too much dacing going on, since evertybody was waaay too busy making clear what they thought of the act on stage: Each Soundsystem had quite a few supporters.

really fun set, you can feel the energy of the club, which is what you've got to be aiming for here.

did the guy in #5 w/ the flashgun get any decent shots from the evening? ;)

Thanks!

@Taygull: It's not my cup of tea either... Luckily there are a few more people starting to take photo's at Atak, and I've managed to get one of them cover the next Reggae Party ;)
Last time I wasn't there, there were some people who thought the combination of an air horn and a lighter could be fun... Flames of a meter long  Bouncers had real fun that night.
So there was a sign this time forbidding air horns and other canisters luckily...

@Narlus: No idea about the other photographer. Can't find images online, so I guess not ;)

Reggae party in the netherlands huh? Sounds like an aweful time ;)

Nice shots. I really love small venue concert photography, the capture of the energy of the crowd (that's what live music is all about right?) is great.
