But hey, we get new End Panels (or whatever the hell they call them).

That makes it sooooo worthwhile!

The one thing that gets me is that they don't seem like they are listening to the masses, instead they are picking and choosing what they think is best. Every time someone mentions something they would like to see they are told "I doubt it!", or "Never happen!". One of the reasons I stopped going to their forums.

Yeah I understand the database thing, and I like it too (elements user here!). But if they're gonna go that route that got to make a more robust tool set to take advantage of it.... but the overriding principal seem to be simplicity.... heck if they make it more simplistic...

Yeah... I go back there for a good laugh sometimes about how some of those insiders keep getting panties in a bunch... but somehow keep getting myself drawn into the arguments too. Even had to edit a few of my posts, because I felt bad about shooting back at some of them... didn't want to feed their egos.

Hard to tell sometimes who the insiders or just users are, because alot of the names ring a bell from various photoshop books, or image credits. But the impression they give for alot of things is that, if something doesn't work for you or you have a suggestion, then you're an idiot, and its a personal attack on them and Adobe (even though I'm careful to say the many GOOD things about LR too.)

Yeah, that argument that most of LR teams feels that converting to colorspace or softproofing isn't needed really irks me...

Glad they spent that time on those endpanels too... my workflow will be so much easier now that I can tell where the panels, um... end.. and all. Typically when a scrollbar stops scrolling I know I'm at the end... but one can never be sure, huh?

I think the moral is, if you have a suggestion on how to improve LR go to the feature request forum and stay away from the User to User one.

Alot of that bleeds over there, too, unfortuantely. Get much more useful info here, without getting hit over the head by a digital frying pan. For feature request, I go straight to the official FR form from Adobe... downside of that is you never get comments back about how inately stupid and worthless you are, so its kind of a two-edged sword.

Well this seems like a friendly enough forum, having only discovered it a couple of days ago. No being hit over the head by a frying pan here! U2U can be a bit of a minefield!

The official feature request forum is still a good bet, as it gets directly to the engineers, but if you want feedback on any ideas, get a thread running here, and I'll pass the info back too (without getting my panties in a bunch! ;))

Thanks Victoria - glad to see you found your way over here! And, thanks for posting the keyboard shortcuts on Lightroom Extra ages ago it seems. They've been most helpful!

Yes... I thought that name was familiar. I had searched everywhere for those shortcuts, thanks. Still the only good list of them I can find!

I think it's likely that known performance issues have been addressed where possible. I hope, for example, that the severe performance issues with large keyword sets in Lightroom 1.0 have been addressed.

Remember that what we have so far is a list based on a presentation by someone from Adobe who was demonstrating a late development version of 1.1. It's not finished yet, nor is the feature list we've got a complete one.

LR needs to take the default of RSP and their sharpening . They could do it because they have the tech now from Pixmantec. Also RSP had better sliders ,smooth as slik while LR's stick some and not near as easy to use.
The fill light of RSP was better too I do not understand they they do not use the better parts of the awesome RSP .
