It's not available. No shots. Don't hold your breath.

I could find 1D Mark IIIs on eBay before they were released/available too. The lens looks to be slowly trickling in to sellers, but Adorama has none in stock yet, and neither does B&H. Matter of fact, B&H doesn't even list it. I would gauge them for availability before a random eBayer.

Well, there are multiple reviews of this lens with test shots and so on. There are two small problems with all of them. Number one, the reviews are not written in English (I know of one Russian and one Chinese review). Number two, they usually review a Nikon version of the lens; Canon mount results may differ.

Here is, for example, a great comparison (in Chinese) between the Tokina 16-50, Tamron 17-50, and Sigma 18-50: http://www.mobile01.com/newsdetail.php?id=3317 (external link)

If anything, there are many useful test pictures and pictures of the lens, including resolution charts. The Tokina seems to have the highest CA of the three tested lenses. Presumably, they tested on a Nikon camera.

Another review, only this time in Russian: http://community.livejournal.com/ru_d70/902166.html (external link) (you can click text links under the pictures to download full-size versions).

It is already out here in Japan.
it is also being sold as pentax brand. I'll try to get some test shots this weekend and post here.

I tried once before,.. and it seems solid, but a lot heavier than the sigma 18-50 or tamron 17-50.
Using this with pentax k10D system with IS on body.. it's wonderful!
