May 23, 2007 08:59 | #2 Thanks for posting this, I have never seen one of these so I had to look it up in my Sibley. We have the Yellow-bellied Sapsucker here in Texas. They make round feeding holes while your Red-breasted seem to make square ones, amazing. I like the detail in your shot. Are you in California? MIKEIVAN
