Mpix ordering question

Does Mpix send a receipt with a breakdown of the prints and pricing of each order? The reason I ask is I want people to place orders through my website, and then I will submit the order to Mpix and have them ship directly to the customer so I don't pay double shipping. I just don't want there to be a receipt saying that an 8x10 costs $X.XX and I charged them $Y.YY for it.

I am pretty sure the answer is no. Just a run down of the file names, print size, and quantity. I have had many orders through them and can't remember their ever being prices. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

They just send a packing slip with the names, sizes, and number of each file ordered. As far as I know though, they do direct ship in their own Mpix labeled boxes. So, all your customer has to do is go to their website to see your pricing. They sell to general public and don't require registration to see their price list like other pro labs. I love their prints, but hate that part about them.

yup what fortinaa said is exactly right. If you buy more than 2500 dollars a year or think you will this year just sign up for millers lab (mpix's parent company). They ship in plain brown boxes so the customer doesnt know where they came from.

If i were you though going though mpix i would just take hit of the double shipping just so the customer doesnt get mad at your for the price difference. I use both millers and mpix combined. Sometimes mpix is cheaper than millers and vice versa (especially when one has a sale, because the sales dont ever overlap either).

Cant complain much about either but my computer has an issue with uploading to mpix and millers since i redid my computer. i think my isp blocks my connection when a burst of data is being sent and i cant controll the speed of the upload.

well G/L either way

Thanks for the information. I totally forgot that they could just cruise to the web site and check the pricing. Maybe they aren't the best option for my needs...

Are your customers local or far away? If they are local I'd just have the customers pick them up and/or meet them someplace to deliver the images.

I have used and loved mpix ... but have never been in your shoes (might be at some point in the future though).

I use mpix and always ship to me first. Then repackage and deliver to the customer..

I make a habit of printing my receipt at the time of the order so I can put it in my business expense file.

Is there any particular reason why you do it this way?

Digital if you dont have them sent to you but drop shipped they come in a box that says mpix all over it. Then they can just hop on the internet type in mpix for a search and look at the pricing because pricing is open to the public.

i dont think your customer would be happy paying $10 for an 8x10 when they know you only payed $1.99.

Hope that helps
