Well I got the courage and submitted a photo I took to Islands Magazine, and won an honorable mention. Out of 30 honorable mentions, half made publication in their magazine . . . mine made it! While it is not the grand prise, nor 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, that fact that my photo was selected just made my day.

I am still "very" much an amateur photographer. I enjoy coming to these boards almost daily to admire everyone's work and learn. Here is my 5 seconds of fame:

Congratulations! It's always encouraging when your work is recognized, and this image should be recognized. It's very nicely done!

well done MauiTiki. Must be great to get recognition from such an early stage...
I think the reflected light on the pebbles really sets the picture apart from similar scenes. Very nicely done!

A agree...without the foreground lighting, it would just be another picture.

Congratulations! Well done!

Thank you everyone and sorry for the type error on amateur LOL, that's what I get for "not" checking the spell checker. Appreciate everyone taking the time to look at my photo.
