i was just laid on the grass photographing a couple of duck's on my Pond and this Goldfinch landed on the weed around 12ft away

Great shots of a very colourful bird Rob. I'm very new to birding and the vibrant colours of so many different bird species never ceases to amaze.

Very nice to see this bird down on the ground for a change and you were at the right angle at the right time. Great combination of colors.

from my experience, rare and beautiful birds don't land in front of my camera and pose for a while... obviously, this must be a dream... and the colors are really dreamy too.
