First look at this:

https://photography-on-the.net …=0&postorder=asc&start=33

Now I was shooting a snapshot of my bookshelf for another thread:

https://photography-on-the.net …read.php?t=31331&start=30

I hadn't tried the 10D since the post in the first link. So I shot one shot of my shelf with flash.. I turned it down to see if I could get one without in this dimly lit room. And WTF?? The 10D didn't respond at all! The top-lcd was functional, but the lens wouldn't focus, and no buttons gave any result. So I thought I should "reboot" it. Turned it off, and on.. Except that it wouldn't turn on  I replaced the battery, and still nothing. I unmounted the _CANON_ lens, and sat it back on, and then it "booted" up again. If this "toy" have been damaged from the fall mentioned in thread one, I think I will just die :( Luckily I'm covered by warranty _AND_ insurance, so I guess I will be fine, but I don't dare thinking about spending time without my cam. Specially not as I'm now about to do a B&H-order :(

It seems to be going again, but my hart sure stopped for a minute.. Hope it was a one-timer, and not something that will come back to haunt me..

You probably will carry it, sleep with it, have it on the dinner-table, etc, etc for quite a while =)

You're only asking for trouble if you put your camera loose in a school bag full of books and then throw it around.
