Some features of DPP are purposely greyed out when running with Vista. Supposedly this will changed during the next update. I think I heard you can run 3.0 in XP compatibility mode, and get those functions back... may be worth a try. David C.

Updated DPP and now it recognises the files....=) thanks...but another problem has cropped up....wont let me crop or trim the photos.great.!!.......any ideas?

That's because those are disabled in the latest version for vista... I heard you could run a program somehow in "xp compatibility mode" or something like that (I don't have Vista) so you may want to download the last XP version of DPP, and then give that a try.
