(A True Story) I had gone to the blind this morning only to find the eagle nest tree empty. After waiting over a hour I had sadly decided they were not coming back soon and packed up my camera and started the long packing out process. After walking through swamp and forest for 20 minutes, I came to the field where my car was parked. As I crossed the field Camera and Tripod in hand I heard the call of the Eagle from behind me. Without hesitation I turned on the camera and Fired off a handheld shot. It was as if the bird was saying goodbye. I can tell you a tear came to a old mans eyes when I thought it was the end of my time with them. Not a great Photo but I'm glad to have it.

Theres always next year, (i think). If that is the end for this year, you at least have the consolation that you got to photograph these awsome birds, you saw the young grow up and who knows maybe even their first flight, a tear it may bring but you were very privelidged to be there, remember the happy times!

Thanks for your time to read the ending of the saga, I may need to go back and get a few in-flight of the Immature but I'm happy I have enough to write the full story of my 5 months with Eagles.

A good ending Gary. It doesn't surprise me though, these guys are pretty sharp. :)

Gary I can appreciate what you felt, I was not there but I have lurked after your posts on this one every day, every day, knowing full well that the saga would come to an end, one which I did not cherish. Just be thankful that you were at least there to bring to us the joy that most of us will never share first hand. Thank You.

I hope it will make a good story for my kids to enjoy, from their dad.

Thanks Mitch

I'm very thankful of the time I was allowed to spend with them.

I hope it will make a good story for my kids to enjoy, from their dad.

It was sure a pleasure logging in here to follow the saga of this eagle family. I enjoyed the post and progress during the five month photo journey. Many thanks Gary!!

By the way, it's almost like a Season Finale of a favorite televison series. you hate to see it end, but you look forward to next season... Nice job! I'll be standing by for the FALL Season :) :) Job well done!

That's a nice story, but a little sad. Cheers Gary.

You have captured their saga in one beautiful shot after another and you now have a great family album of these proud raptors. Now you can relive every moment when you go through that album. Gone but not forgotten. :-)

Best regards

Thank you Sindri

Time to wrap it up after over 5000 pictures to sort through and assemble into a story of my experiances.
