It seems that my raw photos have more noise than my jpeg. Anyone else experience this.

Most RAW converters today have the noise reduction as a user controllable option. If you want you can also do no NR during conversion and then do it in a more specialized NR program. What does it lack that the full version has for $49.95. Is the actual engine that it uses to remove noise the same as the Professional edition? _______________
