Can anybody reccomend a good tripod/head combo for my 30D and Bigma. I want something that isnt gonna bounce around with the weight.

Canon EOS 30D, Canon EF-S 18-55mm II, Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 L, Canon 580EX Speedlite, Kenko Pro 300 DG 1.4x TC, Canon RS80N3 Remote Switch, Manfrotto Pro 055CLB Tripod, Manfrotto 322RC2 Tripod Head.

connormmii,
I have been very happy with my Manfrotto 3021b pro and a Manfrotto 3030 pan tilt head with my camera and 100-400L + 2xTC (its great for macro also). There are many other heads that may also be good for you ;)

I second that exact combo. Works very well for the 1-4 and my new setup including a Sigma 150 macro with flash bracket, etc, etc...
I also use an RC2 head on my monopod, so I can leave plates on the bigger lenses. Nice setup.

Wouldn't this be a better place for this thread?

For the bigma, I'd recommend something sturdy. No personal experience with it, but I'd guess a bigger Gitzo (series 3 would be absolute minimum) and Gimbal head would be best...

I agree. For a lens that can hit 500mm you need something that is bigger than what has been suggested above. You need to be at the Gitzo 3 series stage or larger.

My sturdiest combo is a Bogen 3246 tripod with the Bogen 3275 (410) gear head. I would think that combo would handle the 'Bigma'.

I have a 20D + Bigma + 380EX. I use the AT-CF94 (external link)legs and ATH-H96 (external link) ballhead combo (same as AT-CF994 (external link)). Works great!
