As part of the usual routine, I will drive by the burrowing owl nests on my way home. I have been watching two nest that withen one hundred feet of each other. The first produced five chicks which can be seen here. The second nest had not produced anything until today. I drove by and saw a little head pop out and then another. So far there are two little fuzzy ones that I have seen at this nest and there may still be some younger ones down in the burrow. Most of the area nest seem to have five babies, so there may still be others in the burrow. Here are some shots of the two newcomers, as well as a few of the older chicks from the other burrow. They are such a pleasure to photograph. They seem to love to pose for the camera.
