But rather a webpage-design. I spent the night "Grokking the Gimp", to create a webpage for a dragrace-team I'm sponsoring with webdesign and webhosting. They're starting to get quite eager to get "online" now, but I have seriously had troubles designing anything other than shitty designs lately, so I haven't dared to show it off. Is this another shitty design, or do you think it works OK? It's old American cars, hence the very "American look" (the team-boss really love USA, so it can't hurt ) I'm quite satisfied with this one (AT LAST!!) At least with the "Big daddy dragracing" logo-part. Think it turned out quite nice, and if you look close on it, you will notice the eyes of the driver "looking towards greater achievements" (or something ) That was a Candid I took of her sitting in her car during last weekends drag. The "Bossie" artwork in the background there, is also from a picture I took of the car, as it's printed on the sides of her car (it's what she named it). I'm aware this is only an image without content, and therefore might look "ribbed", but do you think I should show them the design now, or do you have any last-minute "fixes" that should be thrown in first? All feedback appreciated highly

I think the eyes of the driver embossed in the logo overdo it.

If you want to put something in the background, I'd rather use some machinery/car parts or american flag paraphernalia instead, because that's what you're looking forward to in the logo.

The eyes are spooky. Is that what you wanted? Also the script of "Dragracing" is rather weak.. Suggest a more masculine lettering for the word Dragracing.

The job that has been done is good, but the elements chosen don't really stengthen the image. Perhaps an image of the christmas tree (tiered lights) and a car billowing smoke (or flame). Or a close up of a buckeling slick as it peels off the starting line...

Put in some images that scream drag racing, and change the font for "Dragracing" from a script, to a bold font (maybe even a round font to echo the shape of the tires), and you'll have a great letterhead.

What you've done is great, but the elements don't lead the casual viewer to what the content is all about.

Big Daddy is also a music distributor!
Blues musician Lester Kinsey's nick name was also Big Daddy!
One of the Nascar tracks (in Boston) is called Big Daddy!

Don't forget that the original "Big Daddy" was a drag racer named Don Garlits.

www.bigdaddydrag.com (Norwegian though) is online now, and the team loved it. Nothing will be changed to get a more masculine look though, as the feminine side of this team really is what makes it quite special at least here in Norway.

The phrase "Big Daddy" is really beyond my control. Not my team, not me making up the names. I just make their webpage, and if they get into trouble for using the name, they'll just have to call me up and make me change the logos if necessary, but their name really isn't my ballpark at all

vvizard, I knew that. I just thought that you might find it interesting that there was another "Big Daddy" that had been around drag racing since at least the 1960's since you also do photo shoots at the drag races there.

Yeah thanks. I'll mention the possible name-conflict to them also, in case they didn't know. At least I know the driver changed her "callsign" away from "ChaCha" because of a possible name-dispute with a former race-legend, so they might take it serious..... or not. Darn if they do, that'll be a lot of text to change for me =P

I got to see him race a few times and even within an arms length in the pits once. His dragster could "only" beat my car by 5-6 seconds in the 1/4 mile
