This is a pretty shot. The composition is interesting, and the mountain line takes you to the bird, but I get stuck where the 'middle' branch intercepts the mountain. I would paint the sky down and change the ridgeline—or go back and see if the bird is still there and take another shot from a slightly different angle. :D Does anyone else have see it?

Nice shot but i think it would be better with a slightly closer view of the bird with the same background. I may be wrong. nice shot all the same. :)

I like the crop too. It changes a mountain into a cloud. :)

But, that is a Red Shafted Northen Flicker, which is the western version of the Flicker, he has a red mustache. The Eastern version is the Yellow Shafted Northern Flicker which has black mustache. :)

Well, that's very interesting! I'm new to birds, so I very much appreciate such information. Thanks! :D
