Very nice Gary. I have found that the several I've seen and shot here are at head level or below. It might be because of the brush, but they seem to like being on lower branches, even fallen small trees rather than way up high.
Hi Mitch...I got my info from
http://www.birds.cornell.edu …t_Crested_Flycatcher.html
I have seen them in the Spring and then occasionaly I see them lower if they are hunting on lower branches. I have seen these guys 4 times since last Friday but way up..
morehtml#1 is just perfect. The shadow really gets me in#2. But I like #1 so much who cares

I liked #1 the best for the same reason but somehow the second one keeps growing on me regardless of the shadow...not sure why. The first one is almost full frame so for that reason alone I think it will remain my fave. Thanks for the feedback Alan
csquared63Hi Gary, These guys are one of my favorite birds because of their energetic vocals. You did a nice job catching them sitting still—they're almost as fidgety as warblers.
In the bigger bird catagory they certainly do move about continuously. Even when you don't see them you can hear them moving from area to area just from the vocalization...an intriguiging bird and quite territorial. I witnessed this species battling with neighbouring Sapsuckers last Summer. I thinks they dished out more than they received. Thanks for the comment Carl
And thanks also to Gary, Dennis and johnstoy for looking and commenting
