One last shot, at the 'horseshoe' just moments after the sun went behind the trees:

I'm planning on practicing more at both the Daytona 24 & Sebring 12 Hours.

Love that one.

Picked up the camera for the first time in 3 months, was able to find some time to shoot between tuning and driving.

I have a friend that is working on one of those teams building one of those...he is in school in Texas. Cool stuff. That driver needs a driving suit!

Just a general questions. How many of y'all use a tripod to do your panning.

Pretty much the same. When I am shooting wider (100mm or less) I find I can get better results hand held. But I will use a monopod if I am shooting longer, sometimes even if I have using my 70-200mm with the 1.4tc

using a tripod? Never! Not even a monopod when panning with the 70-200 2.8L and 400 5.6L, always handheld. Hate using a monopod when panning.

Thanks! Quite soon after that my 7D stopped working. Poor weather sealing didn't stand heavy conditions very long. :)
And on that tripod question me neither use tripod or monopod. I find much easier to follow object hand held, of course IS on my 70-200 helps a lot. My wider lensen are non IS.
