With all these amazing uber slow pan pics being posted...

I had this one thinking it was just too blurry... When does it become too blurry? Thoughts?

It's a tough personal call. I like to have some part reasonably sharper, & for me, you almost made it. ; )

As already said, preference comes into it. Some extremely blurred examples can still be OK. For me, the very least I would need sharp would be the driver/rider.


5D3, 7D2, EF 16-35 f/2.8L, EF 24-70 f/2.8L II, EF 24-105 f/4L, EF 70-200 f/2.8L II, EF 100-400 f/4.5-5.6L II, EF 1.4x III, Sigma 150mm macro, Lumix LX100 plus a cupboard full of bags, tripods, flashes & stuff.

Same with me, great colours interesting car, background spot on.. looked at it is it or isn’t it.. tough call. Almost a great shot. For me, if the front number was in focus it would have been superb. Thanks for sharing :)

Yeah, I agree. A lot of people seem to favour the really slow, arty, pans (and they do look cool), but I personally like to have some, if not all, of the vehicle sharp.

Practice makes perfect...as long as you stick to basic rules of panning, you will start nailing them in no time..
