Taken today, Canon 40d, Sigma 10-20mm 1/60th f5 ISO 250 @ 10mm. Was about 70 or so cm away from the car...

Freaking love this. If only I knew how far away 70cm was... sounds close though! haha

70cm = 700mm = 28 inches = 2ft 4inches (frickin too close)

Understand the "70cm = 700mm" and "28 inches = 2 ft 4in" but how did it go from 700mm to 28 inches ?

typical conversion from metric to imperial (english)
I knew that 1 Metre equals 100cm or 1000mm so for the imperial conversion had to be less than 3.3ft the reason why I converted it was because there are quite a few people who still struggle with the metric to imperial conversions, I grew up in the UK using the metric system, when I moved to the states, I had to learn fractions and the imperial system of measuring.

So for nherndon just think of two 12 inch (30cm / 300mm) rulers end to end.
I just wish the US would just convert to metric and be done with it.

I just got back from Vegas yesterday, while I was there I went to Friday Qualifying at LVMS. Here's a few of my favorites from Round One.

Unfortunately the smoke from the burnouts was lingering around during some of the runs :cry:

Hi all,

This is my first post.
What a great thread.
These were taken at a rally in South Australia a couple of weeks a go.
I was standing in a pine forest and for something different decided to go "arty" and try shooting through the trees.
Details are 1/10th second @ F16 with ISO 50 on a 1dMKII and 100-400L Series.

Phil - I like the first photo - that's really good for 1/10th second.

I'd probably just get a big blurry blob if I tried that!
