But trust me, they're not all like that.
I only tried about 6 cars and got at least one of each though so I was pretty happy. They were taken using AF as well.
Next time you're out and you've got your "safe/stock" shots, have a play at really slow stuff, you might just surprise yourself. Sometimes you have to be a little brave and go outside your comfort zone.
A word of warning though, not everyone likes slow shots and they may not sell. But that's because people simply don't "get it". Most of the people I shoot for want boring front 3/4 and side on shots...I put it down to the fact they don't appreciate the technical side of the shot and don't see what you were trying to achieve.
I did a shot once and wanted to slap the guy because he said it was crap photography because the photo was "blurry" -
