Does anyone know of any good field guides for British Wildlife?

I'm looking for something with colour illustrations and details of tracks and sign, but can't find anything in local bookshops. I'd settle for a book on just mammals, but would prefer it to cover reptiles etc too...

Thanks

Scott

i have Collins Complete Guide to British Animals that i use,it has full colour photos, details of habitat, some but not all have photos of footprints and poop :D lol. it covers most of our wildlife, including snakes and frogs etc you might find that useful,i got mine from Amazon, but i'm sure somewhere like Borders or Waterstones would have it

Thanks Shazz. I think i've seen that one in Waterstones, but i prefer hand drawn pics rather than photo's, or both would be even better, as photo's by themselves can often be a little deceiving. ;)

lol i'm the opposite,i prefer photographs as i find them easier, especially with birds as i find so many similar drawings in books it sometime makes it hard to identify some birds etc, never mind, each to their own,i hope you find something :D i will keep my eyes peeled for other books :D
