I was lucky enough to watch these Osprey all day. 3 chicks in all. C&C welcome.

Nice shots Wayne. Where is this at? That looks like a fairly new nest.

Its in a place called Gloucster on the York River (Virginia) and there's very little effect added to the second one. That was the actual sunset. There are 3 groups of Osprey all within probably 1/2 a mile of each other with nests atop those posts. Whenever we go fishing out in the river, we whistle and the Osprey circle over-head. We always throw the first fish up into the air and an Osprey will either catch it or swoop down and pick it out of the water. Not brave enough to take my camera out in the boat yet.

I've never seen that, but it doesn't surprise me. I see more and more birds accepting people around now than ever before. Here we have Bald Eagles and even they are accepting of people now that everybody isn't taking a shot at them whenever they show themselves.

I never thought of it like that. The fishermen say it's good luck to give an offering to the Osprey. Only the longtime locals know about it but, if you whistle a particular way, just loud enough, in 5 mins there's 6 or 7 Osprey circling. It's pretty cool.
