This might not be perfect but I opened it up in Lightroom, clicked his white shirt, then slid the tone a bit. Didn't do anything else since white balance was the biggest issue. You'd want to Post to your own taste.

Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here (external link). Cursing at your worse-than-a-map reflector? Check out this vid! (external link)

Thanks bcap for the detailed reply! I appreciate you putting the time into it.

cdifoto - I ended up doing just what you did (before you responded) and came up with just about the same thing you posted (futher pp of course). Looked pretty good. This was a tough one for me.

Thanks everyone for the responses!

Chris

Just ambient light, no fill. It was about 7pm and the sun was behind the trees behind them. Not very good lighting, and like I said, not the best shot of the night by far. I just posted this one because it was a fairly close up shot of them side by side and felt it would be a good one for skin tone help.

Switch to raw shooting and most of the problem will be solved. Other wise you will spend hours processing and shifting color balance sliders.

Shoot RAW and use a white balance reference next time. The best you can hope for now is to eyeball it to your liking.

One thing I'd like to point out as a constructive critique if you don't mind, but when you're posing your couples, you should try to get them both on the same plane. This guy's face seems so much further back than hers and as a result, his face is a little soft. I like to get my guy's chin at about the same level as my girl's eyes which you did here so that's good. But do get him closer next time.

jj1987 - seriously, just straight out of the camera? just a jpg from RAW?
I never get colours and light to look like that

Whibal with the standward raw conversion presents. Vibrance +10 and the red midtones +5, everything else I just let the raw converter do off of a click balance.

I'm too lazy to do all of this custom color correction stuff you JPEG shooters lke to do to every image

Now granted, ISO100 and outdoors is going to be the only thing that works *that* well, the others are going to require a bit more playing with, especially the higher the ISO goes.

I didn't really alter the color so much. I did apply a little bit of warming filter though. Other steps to achieve the added contrast was done in LAB mode.

First off, never shoot anything without a Whibal (or another white balance tool). It will save you TONS of time post processing. If your white balance is correct, you'll save yourself a lot of headache later down the road.

Heres to show you what a simple whibal can do with no other corrections.
