I've been wanted to get to Nova Scotia for a long time and haven't made it even though we visit Bar Harbor annually and have been salmon fishing in New Brunswick several times. Thanks, Sindri. Positive feedback coming from someone who produces the beautiful images that you do is certainly appreciated. I've shot so many Tree Swallows over the past month or so that I must finally be getting the hang of it! Reyno wrote in post #3278752 Great series of nicely captured images Ed. Like em and the Bluebird and Tree Swallow are just fantastic, nicely posed and well composed. Thanks, Reyno. And glad to see you back and putting out those fabulous photos. Glad you like the series. I was really happy with the way the Bluebird images turned out. And that Tree Swallow and I are on first name basis. jpalmer wrote in post #3278983 there all very nice ed. it looks like the family tree shows again with no.2 shot looks like a stone chat with differant colour that ive just done. Thanks, Jason. Glad you like the images. Yes, it would be interesting to follow some family trees back! Thanks, Phil. Glad you enjoyed the walk. I got to share my favorite park and some wonderful birds. It doesn't get any better than that. csquared63 wrote in post #3279120 Nice selection here, Ed. Yes, the Bluebird shot is special. Thanks, Carl. It looks like the Bluebird and the Tree Swallow were the showstoppers of this walk! howzitboy wrote in post #3280712 nice set of pictures of some really pretty birds. Yes we do have some nice birds here but I think there are nice birds everywhere. "the earth has music for those who listen."

The first shot is a good lesson on keeping up with your settings before starting to shoot...don't worry though its happened to most of us (ahem, including, ahem me, cough cough). Daniel Cadieux

What can I say. I ended up shooting that Common Yellowthroat at f/5.6; 1/60 sec and ISO 100. Not the end of the world but I should have kicked up the ISO to 200 or 400 at least in order to gain some shutter speed. stefeb wrote in post #3282149 Great shots, Ed. Haven't visited Jacobsberg yet. We've been hiking there for several years now and it is one of our favorite places. bromm wrote in post #3282269 Nice collection of species ED, 3 of which I have no captures of yet. Well done. Thanks Trevor. And I know that you have many more than three of which I have no captures and I haven't gotten out of Owls yet! fritz1 wrote in post #3282311 I like them all I went to Jacobsburg a few years ago and took my mountain bike I need to go back with my camera, I kinda forgot about that place, good work Thanks Fritz. Instead of being the biker, you can now try to dodge the bikers. They love me when I set up my camera and tripod along the trail... especially when they are barreling down hill! My favorites would be the Bluebird, the Towhee, the Tree Swallow and I think the Am. Goldfinch is my favorite. I don't see many shots of these in their natural element and this shot is also very sharp. Though the Tree Swallow and Bluebird are right up there in quality. Towhees are hard to get shots of, so my hat's off to you! RESPECTING NATURE while photographing it...
