I think I'm still drying off from getting a complete and utter drenching over at the World Superbikes at Silverstone today!

Race 1 started pretty badly with a steady stream of rain leaving puddles and rivers throughout the circuit. However, as the winds picked up and the rain worsened officials decided to cancel Race 2, which was mighty frustrating as I was shooting from the inside of Woodcote, where you cannot move from once the race has started. So I came away with a selection of photos from one corner! Argh!

Anyway, all comments welcome:

Max Biaggi's permanent look of surprise never ceases to amaze me!

The battle of Troy; Bayliss and Corser battled early on...

...but Troy Bayliss took the lead and picked his way through the puddles to a strong victory.

Whilst the midfield battled for the final points.

Toseland threw the race away, leaving his Ten Kate Honda muddied and broken, but ridable.

Toseland, however, eventually finished 8th.

Not overly newsworthy but I liked the photo, Smrz at speed:

Looks like you had a pass to get into a good position, a very useful thing to have at Silverstone IMHO. :)

Some nice shots, shame about the rain..

Cheers!

Nic pics Pete.

You gotta respect those guys...I have trouble getting my knee down in the dry, never mind the wet !

As for Biaggi...that's his happy face ;)

Mike.

Cheers!

Toseland was certainly pushing his luck, I was expecting to highside his bike every time he came spinning it up out of Woodcote.

Biaggi always seems like he's having a prostate exam. Great capture.

people will always try to stop you doing the right thing if it is unconventional
Full frame and some primes.

Yea, when I pootled home on my bike afterwards it made me realise how quick those guys are as I struggled to even see through the rain.
