I nearly missed him, he blended into the tree so well.

no way I would have seen it! His color and plumage mimic the tree he is standing on soo closely , how did u see it?

Awesome picture and that close up is just scary. Look at that eye.

I was walking around our property with my other half and we spotted him at the last minute, he did let me get quite close :)

Wow, what an interesting bird that you were so fortunate to see....I'd never heard of a Frogmouth, but a bit of googling shows that there are three species of frogmouth's in Australia. Thanks for posting this unique bird.

Nature at its finest! What great camoflage that bird has. A great capture, and I love the close up (crop?) of the head.
