Hi!
This is a recent photo from a Bulgarian village, where I went with a friend of mine (a London-based photographer). We've shot some nice photos, but I like this one. This was a poor old man, sitting on an old wooden bench with his dog. This was the natural pose of the man. What do you think?

I love it, it shows a lot about the man and his life. Great photo.

I enjoy talking with people who look like him. You would be surprised how much you can learn about the world from those who have lived in it long enough.

Great shot BTW

I agree with perfectpixel, I saw the watch immediately, not the man. Maybe desaturate the blue out of that crazy reflection?

It is cool in the watch-ad theme though...

Yes, I must agree that the watch is somehow distracting, but it adds some "time-stop" temper IMHO. I'll maybe try to desaturate it or to decrease its brightness.
Thanks for your comments!
Any other? :D

Actually there's way too much going on, and the focus is lost. For example, you say to look at the hands, but the hands have part of them cropped off and are certainly not the first thing you look at, there is too much space at the top and the BG is incredibly distracting. It IS a good expression but it certainly gets lost in the mess.

don't take anything I say too harshly though I look at hundred and hundreds of photos everyday and always give an honest opinion, the mood of the expression is good, but the message is lost.

I think it is a rather nice pic. The tough light keeps it from being a very good pic. The highlights are blown out on the hands. If you underexposed any more you would loose detail on the face. Maybie less exposure and a touch of fill flash?

I liked the contrast between the old (man) and the new (digital watch). Two cultures/worlds colliding and co-existing ... but what do I know ...

Yes, a fill-flash would be a good thing in this situation, but I was in a hurry to take a couple of shots since the dog was running around non-stop and I wanted a photo with both the man and the dog. I'm so sorry to crop the hands  Next time I'll be much more careful.
