I finally got close enough to this bird to get some good shots. Actually, he pretty much ignored me. They have a call like a Redwing Blackbird, but scratchy, like he's faking it. The female is here. :)

Thanks Randy. I had first seen these birds about a month ago but mostly they are so far out in the swamp I couldn't get any decent shots. These were shot from the trail and only 50 yards from the parking lot. :D

I saw your trying to sell your camera and lens. What will you use besides the "Bigma" ?

Thanks CB. These guys are a nice looking bird. :)

Trying to trade, on the off chance someone has a 5D they aren't happy with or an old 1D Mk I. I didn't hold out much hope, but hey, ya never know. Being financially challenged right now, I would go back to some Macro or portrature stuff until I could afford another one. ;)

Great captures.. We have lots where I live.. I saw an immature male on my lawn this morning. Their call reminds me of a rusty gate swinging slowly :)

I can still shoot birds. Some of my better images are with the Sigma 105 Macro lens. ;)

Thanks Jim, they do sound like a rusty hinge. :)
