GBH & young in the rookery

Just a couple images I have processed so far from a GBH rookery on Vancouver Island I spent some time at on Friday. The first image is using the 100-400mm, the 2nd the Sigma 300-800mm.

Beautiful. The GBH are my favorite and it's rare to find a nest with chicks. Beautiful shots!

great shots! just wondering how did u get eye level with the nest? are u on a wall? climbed a tree?

The rookery I visit is on private property and has a 30' tall blind amongst the roughly 60 nests there. So I can get a different prespective than can most.

These are great! I have a heronry very close but I can't get anywhere near it for photos. I went and watched them with my binoculars for a bit yesterday.
