We were out boating and I was photographing the kids ski biscuiting behind the boat when hubby yelled at me to check out the osprey. I only got 2 shots, this is the only keeper. Taken with 300D and bigma, handheld on a moving boat.

super shot! look at the size of that fish, that bird must have been starving! quick reflexes to grab your camera, pick it up and compose, fire and capture this nice image.

Good one.. Nice detail and it's very well exposed. There aren't any blown out areas or black areas like I often get :)

I already had my camera in hand as I had been taking pics of my kids. I was facing the back of the boat taking pics of them skiing, hubby noticed the osprey, so I had to stand and swing around, instintly I just took pics and I was lucky that this one turned out and as you can see it's only just in frame. It would have been great if I had more time to compose the shot better but both us and the bird were moving :)

thankyou everyone for your lovely comments :)

Great capture especially considering the circumstances. I have photographed Water Skiers from a boat and it takes time to adjust onself to the rythm of the boat/waves etc...To get a shot like this is a bonus.

You have image editing OK so I added a little canvass in photoshop ..canvas..width, added 20% and then cloned some sky in to fill the extension. It needs a little more work but .........I can remove it at your request.

That is fantastic Gary, it makes a huge difference. I'm not very good in photoshop but will give this a go. Thankyou for showing me.My pic is a crop of the original and in the original I only just got this bird in frame :)
