I really pushed the 100-400L on these shots but I wanted to post my first for the raptors. Lesson learned, bring the tripod and the extender.
The Osprey was across a small lake up about 40 feet on a dead tree. He relocated in the second shot and he was a little closer to me but shooting from a monopod showed me just how much practice I will need to track and successfully shoot birds in flight. I'm sure the tripod would have helped on the birds in flight shots, the monopod just proved to unsteady for me with the lens fully extended. CC always welcome.
Bashful Osprey
