I woke up wanting to shoot with my new lens (70-200) and read about the ceremony in Central Park. I grabbed my gear and jumped on the bus/train. I think I got some good shots.

It was a nice ceremony and I felt very patriotic and proud to live in this great country, but yet felt sad to see so many young faces in unifirm and know there are many more overseas not getting to eat burgers and steaks today.

Central Park is also a great place to hang on nice afternoons.

Some nice shots there (I'm not sure where either the performing or arts fits in with this one though).

Is the new lens the 70-200?

For ease of comments it helps if you number the photos.

It's a pity the eyes on the officer in white are a little dark (shadows) I'd try and bring them out with a little post processing.

I really like the expression in #4 of the vet leaning on his walking stick. I'd suggest a closer crop of either just him or him and the lady next to him and blurring the background faces a bit. I have a feeling this one could look stunning in B&W too.

I also really like the solemn reflective look of the vet in pic #6. Again it looks a little dark and that a bit more detail could be brought out in post processing. It also looks like it would be a very good B&W shot too.

Thanks BlackShadow. I didn't know where to put the post since I wasn't asking about the lens itself. I thought this was the correct place.

THanks for the input, I'll work on them a bit and see what I can do. Obviously I didn't use flash to fill in the shadows, but will see if I can figure out how to PP it.
