Was thinking of using bill me later to get myself some new gear from B&H. Anyone ever use this? Can you tell me about your experience with it? Good/bad?

Thx

I haven't used it with B&H, but I have with NewEgg.com. For the most part, it works like any other deferred payment credit card. Unless you want to get WACKED with some serious interest charges, just make sure you pay it off before the promotional period expires. Sign-up is pretty quick and easy. Managing your account online is equally simple.

Works like a charm. Hit the button and order goes through. Shipped the next day. Like strojo said, just pay it off on time or you get hit with the interest and finance charges. I've used it twice with B&H and would do it again.

I have used it a few time and love it. I works great and you get to use the equipment before getting the bill, just make sure to pay it off....those interest rates are hefty.

I always say "if you can't afford it you can't have it". If you've got the cash now then pay for it now, if you don't then just wait because if you got it on deferred payment and something happened, like losing your job and you couldn't afford to pay them back then the interest would cripple you. Just wait for it.

Does anyone have the website to this place? I went to bill-me-later.com to make a payment and the website was not there. It says register this domain name.

Yes, I've already made a purchase at bhphoto using bill me later. I want to make a payment on something I've already purchased. I've done it once before but now the website is no longer there.

take out the '-'s www.billmelater.com (external link)

I agree with the pay for it upfront, but there is also nothing wrong with using an interest free loan, when the funds are already present....

It is the same way I use my credit cards, I don't buy anything with them, that I don't already have the money for, and then I pay it off when the bill comes. You get the buyer protection aspects, and get to use someone elses money for a bit. And it doesn't cost you a thing.

Currently re learning everything I once knew but forgot when I had kids. I use my site for everything, so some of it is good, and others are just my memories.

I can't get there either  with or without the "-"s. Odd as I've been to thier site before to make payments.

My husband spoke with them today. They are having problems with their site but said it should be fixed shortly.

I used the bill me later thing for my last B&H purchase. I don't need to pay the balance until November of this year, but so far it's been good. Item shipped same as always and arrived same as always.

As long as you aren't spending money you don't have and remember to pay the balance by the end of the promotion, you won't get yourself in trouble with the interest rates.

I've used it at least 3 times and I find it a good way to leverage one's funds. I normally set up a recurring payment at my online banking site (3 or 6 payments depending on the BML terms), and I don't have to worry about remembering to make the payments on time. I know I could gain more leverage by just waiting until the end of the promotional period and paying the entire balance at once, but I prefer to spread it out.

to those who have used the Bill Me Later method, once an order is placed. how do you get the account set up as far as making payments, checking a statement, etc? I placed an order yesterday with b&h to take advantage of the 6months of 0% interest. Now I need to figure out how to get this set up.

thanks in advance for any help.

You go to the Bill Me Later site and create an account. The account will have $0 dollars for about 7-10 days after you receive your order. Then you'll get an email stating that your statement is ready. You then sign in and you'll see the order amount with a date that the first payment is due. You can either pay by check by mailing it in or pay online using your check account.
