Thanks. Not really luck, I've been stalking these guys for a couple of weeks now and just finally got a few decent shots. Even this one is slightly out of focus.

Nice shot Keny.....you don't often see them in the grass like that. We have lots of Goldfinches at our cottage (thanks to the feeder) but I don't have a good shot of a male yet. They appear to be much more 'skitterish' than the females that let you get quite close.

Beautiful shot Keny. I've not seen them in the grass. Congrats on the 100-400L, it's a very nice lens and I like mine alot.

Thanks Scott, I've been 'stalking' these guys for a few weeks. They tend to like this one area by a stream and seem to like to "play" in the sun on the path (which is right by the grass).

Thank for looking Bill, I'm really loving this lens.

The bg, although busy, makes a good contrast to the beautiful colors of the bird. Very nice capture indeed Kenny.

Best regards - Reyno

Agreed Reyno, that was the reason I chose this particular image to post. I have another just about as good, but the bird is on the trail/dirt. :) Not nearly the same kind of contrast/pop.
