too plain? I kind of like the subtlety of the sky. Is the crop off?

I don't mind the crop, but the boats disappear into the horizon, and the sky is too subtle for me.

Sorry.

the boats look so far away in my opinion, if they're the main subject, and actually they are, you should increase the contrast a little and/or render the picture darker ...
the ratio sea /sky is perfect

The crop is fine. There just is no clear center of attention in the photo. The boats kind of lead my eye right off the page.

Thanks,

would it help if I cropped tighter so that the boats were larger and more centered in the picture?

ahmadof-
I Hope you don't mind that I edited your photo some...but something like this might work a little better...I basically cut it into 2 pics and cropped and adjusted levels...just a quick job, I'm sure there are better places to crop it and it would look bettter with the original size pic. and all....but jsut to give you an Idea on what I think might help the pic look better...I don't knwo if they are too dark or not, my monitor here isn't the greatest for photo editing...
here are the pics..

Those two crops look great..

that's just what I was looking for. I'm trying to learn what makes me like some pictures of mine and not others. This one I thought had potential (for me at least) but couldn't quite get it right. I really like the colors and the crops you have provided.
