I have a dynatra 858 tripod with one of there ballheads. The only thing i dont like about it is it's not tall enough. With the legs fully extended i think its around 5 feet tall and when the center colume is extended maybe 6 feet or so. But when that center colume is up all the way with a xt sigma 70-200 and sigma 2x it can get a lil wobbly.

Can anyone recommend a taller tripod that is close to 72" or in that ballpark with legs fully extended? Price is an issue aswell, really can't be looking at anything over $175ish.

The only thing I can think of off hand that is that tall and stable is the manfrotto 3046 (Triman). New a bit over budget about 245 from B&H and probably too much for shipping but you could looked used. I recall a member here finding one at a yard sale for $15.00 or so (I doubt any one else is going to be that lucky) but maybe a posting on the WTB section will get you something. Only mention that one as I have owned two of them and they are quick to set up and solid.

Check out the new Amvona tripod legs. The AT-L105T or L104T (external link) seems to be taller than the previous Dynatran models.

If it's tall you want, look at the Manfrotto 3051 (which I have one of) for 75.2" or the 3258 for 95" - both with the center column fully down. Price is out of your budget, but they are tall.

i'll check b&h later for the manfrotto's and ebay for the dynatrans. gotta love the dynatrans and there prices on ebay. that ebay link, the tripod does look a lil better then mine. I like the twist lock for the center colum then the screw one i have now.
