These were taken at Sharks Bay, Western Australia. We were out fishing in our boat and stopped for a break on this beach and there were birds everywhere. This is a very isolated beach and can only really be reached by boat. Anyway out came the bigma but no matter how hard I tried to get close, they just kept walking ahead of me, like this

and then all fly away down to the other end of the beach and I would try again :)

I would love to know what species these birds are if anyone knows. I do know the oystercatchers.

Hi Witchy

Pic 2 "little birds at the front with the brown on their heads and chest are?" the one on the right looks like a ruddy turnstone and the one on the left looks like a greater sand plover.

Pic 3 look like bar tail godwits, the brown one might be a juvenile.

Pic 5 could be western sand pipers.

Some more to look at would be sharp-tailed sandpipers, common greenshanks and wood sand pipers.

Thanks again, I thought the last ones were some type of Sandpiper but had no idea with the others. Muchly appreciated :)
