Well, I think I have got pics of this guy before but thought it was an Eastern Phoebe or Great Crested Flycatcher, but I just looked him up in my books, and it's definately a Kingbird. :)

Thanks Laurent, he was a willing subject, and only 50 yards from the car. :D

You got the exposure right on #3 & 4, but I like em all. Not easy to properly expose these. Cheers! ;)

Son of a ... gun! I was out for my lunchtime walk through a greenway close to my office and I saw several Swallows on a wire (Tree, Barn, and Rough-wing and another that just didn't quite look right). the "other" one was bigger and I wasn't sure what it was so I walked toward the wire and it flew off to another spot farther down the wire. That was when I saw the white on the tail. I was going to check it out later but now I don't have to. It was a Kingbird. Alas no camera but what the heck.

Nice series of images you got there Mitch! At leat you had your camera with you!:)

Thanks John, Adi, Wayne and Ed. The light was all over the place today, cloudy, sunny, cloudy bright. A weird day for shooting. But I've finally got most of it figured out. :)

Thanks Sindri, Reyno and Gary. Reyno, this guy was sitting over water with plenty of escape routes and he did spend a fair amount of time out in the water weeds. This place is also fairly busy with a lot of people walking by all the time. He could see me fine and did quite a bit of singing, so he must have been immune to people. :)

Thanks guys, but it wasn't really a blown out sky. It was one of those days where clouds were coming and going fast. In the white background shots, those are clouds. :)
