Even more photos to loose if the card goes bad. Not an advantage from my way of thinking.

You don't take a photograph. You ask, quietly, to borrow it.

Good for HD video, not good for current DSLR's. Maybe when we get to 50+MP sensors.

Yeah, 4GB is big enough for me and a total of 12GB is definitely enough.

Look on the brighter side...it means that 2gb cards will get even cheaper. :D

I would still need two cards. I gotta have a spare, just in case.

I agree that is an accident waiting to happen. And it will be an expensive one as well. I use 4GB. I have two of them (one as a spare), and as it is I worry about then because I shoot in RAW and they fill up quite fast, and if I loose it, or have it go bad while it is full on the way home I would really go berserk. I already had a 2GB go bad on me after shooting all afternoon at a Cherry Blossom festival in Newark, NJ where they had Japanese performers put on a tremendous show.

I want a slot on my car near the stereo where I can plug in CF cards full o' mp3's and jam all day long!! That's what a 32GB CF would be sweet for!!

People used to say that a few years ago about 1 gig cards - better to get two 512Meg ones, dont want to loose all those images ;)
By having two cards you could be doubling your risk of one failing... ? If only you had used the one big card that didn't fail... It's called 'sh*t happeds' I'm afraid.

Don't know how many DSLR's can handle that size card at the moment.

yes, but back then a 1gb holds more photos than it does now since files were smaller then... i think the real question should be how many pictures would someone be willing to risk of losing if a card goes bad... the number of pictures that a card can hold is far more important than how many bytes it has...

Agreed, so if I enter the habit of shooting small jpeg, than my 2GB card is WAY too big. That means I would lose 1500 pictures or more if that card corrupted. Hmm... better get out all those 16mb cards that came with the cameras...!

that is what I am waiting for.
Sony has a line of models that accept Memory Sticks, but I don't care for Sony radios and the Memory stick.

Some of the new radios can read from an external USB hard drive, I may consider one of those as well since I am not to fond of the way my Kenwood and Ipod Adaptor function.
