I can hardly ever make up my mind as to wether I want to shoot wide angle or telephoto, so I end up continuously changing between my EF-S 18-55, EF 50 f/1.8, EF 28-80 and Tamron 70-300. I was wondering if I can get a lens that will do something like 28-300 f/2.8-4 (like the one that is in S5 IS). The only one I found anywhere near is the EF 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6L IS USM (but its too expensive for me). Please help me, any advice would be great.
Thanks
Have you tried to get by without 28-80? Use kit as a walkaround, 50/1.8 as a portrait, low light and, generally, higher quality lens, Tamron as telephoto. This setup, IMHO, is more clearly defined in terms of which lens is good for which purpose. Using single lens you won't get the same results. There are 18-125 and 18-200 lenses, but they are not as long as your tamron and slower. Plus they're no substitute for 50/1.8.
