Hope I'm not boring anyone with all these bird shots. I'm just trying
different things to see if I can get a sharper image. I used Unsharp Mask
on this, upped the contrast and saturation and added a little more
blue (I think).

Canon EOS 300D, ISO 800, 1/2000, f/8.0, 400mm

YES and unrealistic now. Strange colors.
Sometimes digital reached it's limits I guess.

I don't agree (sorry!) I can open My photography magazine to all kinds of pics with 'weird' and totally unrealistic colours made by 'experts' with the aid of filters etc. This pic looks quite reasonable to Me.

I've looked at it in three different montors. It looks different in all three.
In one there's just a bit too much purple in the wingtips, while the other
two, including the one I used to process the image, don't look too bad to
my eyes.

It seems to me that everyone who posts a picture on the Internet uses
some kind of post processing to make their images look sharper and more colorful. Is that true, or am I just thinking wishfully?

I did not mean that unrealistic is not possible.
The question was "Is it still blurry?" and to that one it is difficult to answer no (click the image to see the 1300px wide one).

This is a Great Blue if I am correct and it does not look anymore like that. So to much saturation and blue (actually purple).

If the question would be "Is this one still OK?" then I would answer: "Depends what you want to do with it!".

Would Rick want to create something "unrealistic" or "weird", he could apply many other PS effects to obtain that.

But hey, tastes are different and in French they say: "Les gouts et les couleurs, sa ne ce discute pas!".

And finally I would say I agree to disagree. 8)
