Hey folks - I have been looking for a Tokina 12-24 for Canon, but they are backordered or sold out as far as I can find (bh, ado, local stores). Anyone have any idea what's going on? Any of you folks have any additional information on when they will ship again? I'm leaving for Germany in a couple weeks and would not mind adding this one to my line-up as we are hitting several cool spots where a uwa would be amazing. Any info would be appreciated...Thanks, Ollie

Thank you. I have been watchin the 3 auctions on ebay, but 2 of them are from Hong Kong...not to fond of that...Thank you though...

I was going to buy one on here, but got screwed by a non-paying bidder on fleabay, which in return caused me to loose out on the Toki as my funds were depending on that auction...

I was just wondering if there was a status available on the backorder. I also contact Tokina USA but have not heard anything back...

Ollie... Here's a link to the Samy's Camera website... Looks like they have them... Online price is $509... When I purchased mine at their local store here in California, I got it at $479...

Moreover, just called the Samy's Camera here in my area (Pasadena, CA) and they have several in stock... You might want to call them and see if they can send it to you... FYI...

Thank you! This is great. I will give it a shot. One question...did you use any coupon, or why did you get it at their store for 479? Is that the reg price in store?

Hey Ollie... Here's why I got it at that price...

- Regular in-store price was $499
- Had a gift certificate of $20 from the wifey
- Weekly sale, at the time, had the "no tax" on various lense manufacturers (Tokina was one of them)
- Total: $499 - $20 GC = $479

That was my "second" best lens purchase from them... I had my "first" best lens purchase from them recently... I was able to acquire the 70-200 f/2.8L IS USM for $1099... Here's the low-down...

- A few weeks ago they had the "no tax" on various lenses (Canon being one of them)
- Sale price $1699
- Sold my 70-300 IS USM via eBay ($600) and applied $500 of that amount
- $100 Instant Rebate (also on the sales ad that week)
- Total: $1699 - $500 - $100 IR = $1099

Needless to say, I will continue doing business with them... At this point, they know me on a first name basis and I have become a regular customer in recent months... I would've bought my Kenko 1.4x T-Con from them, but Amazon had it cheaper by $50 and they wouldn't match it... Oh well... I bought it through Amazon...

Yup, very.

Check the market place area as there is a few threads about them. All very good reviews.

Just a quick update...I ended up ordering one from sigma4less.com as they had them for 489+s/h. They also have the grey market version, but I passed on that.

Thanks for all the help!
