I just joined the board, and have been doing a bunch of research on buying a new SLR lately. Right now, I'm shooting with an Olympus C-4000, a 4 megapixel point and shoot and thought I'd post a couple of pictures I've gotten with that. The first one has been photoshopped a tiny bit (upped saturation a little), the second one has been pretty much left alone.

Comments certainly welcome!

The first one is really nice. The blown out clouds sort of mess up the second one, but it's nice otherwise.

Nice shots on both counts. I think I prefer the first one, but there's really nothing wrong with either. I think the top one may have a little too much sky in it, but by no means is it ruined. Keep up the good work and hope you get your dSLR soon.

Love the first one! absolutely beautiful.
On the second one i scrolled down leaving only a little air over the mountaintops, and in my eyes it makes the picture much better.

First one is amazing, colors, composition, love the way the scene leads you to the horizon. Great!

Great job. Makes me miss Montana. Very nice. #1 is my favorite.

2 Samuel 9:7-8, "So David said to him, “Do not fear, for I will surely show you kindness for Jonathan your father’s sake, and will restore to you all the land of Saul your grandfather; and you shall eat bread at my table continually.” Then he bowed himself, and said, “What is your servant, that you should look upon such a dead dog as I?”

Thanks a lot.. I can't wait until I get something better too. In the meantime, I'm doing a TON of studying, so hopefully I'm ready when I can afford it!

I'll be sure to post more as I take them. I really appreciate the encouragement from you all, it means a lot!
