Nice series. If you shoot in RAW, it would be easy to fix the lighting. :)

If he shot this in RAW to fix the lighting would mean blow out the background and introduce a lot of noise to the photo :) ... instead use a fill flash :)

thanks guys, i realized too late that i wasn't shooting in raw :(, need to make more of a habit of checking the camera settings before going out.

i have a couple of shots in raw where i corrected the exposure, but tomcio is right, the water in the background get's blown out if i go too far. i think fill flash would've scared him away :)

Sorry for butting in but you guys do know that you can lighten your shadows without blowing out your highlights in Photoshop CS2 or Lightroom, in fact you can tone down your highlights while picking up your shadows. In Photoshop just use the shadow/highlight adjustment and in Lightroom the Fill Light and Recovery adjustment. You don't need to adjust your exposure at all.

Both these I think work pretty good at fixing these kinds of photos but I like Photoshop better. If you had image editing on I could show you a quick example of one of your photos so you could see what you think.
