Great series and story Mitch , female cowbirds?
Regards,
Joe
Thanks Joe, yes, female Cowbirds. I have 4 of them and 3 males that come to my yard daily. Always well behaved, never fight with the other birds.

Super work and good eye not to miss such a small event that gives us all more insight into their world! Bob
Thanks Bob. The nose in the air thing is common with these guys. I think they are looking for predators, as they all do this, all the time. The females also show a lighter patch on the throat that becomes very apparent when they take this position, so it may also be some sort of display too.

What a hoot! Perfect captions.

Hey, send some rain down here!
Karen
Thanks Karen, these guys are funny when theres more than two together. The rain is here for the next week, along with the heat. It's a steambath here now. Almost time for the AC to go in the window.

Ha ! Ha ! Great series Mitch. Think the last shot should be " forget the seed, does my butt look big in this ?"
Thanks Adi. It's surprising how much control the have over their feathers. They can puff up then go back to smooth in a second.
Thanks Clarsen, and fun to take them too.
