Hi,

Well, I'm after some advice of how to level out the brightness of the sky on my panoramic of liverpool image. The images were stiched together with Autostich - which I was pleasantly surprised with!! Thing is though, as you can see, the sky is darker on the left of the image.

Is there a way to level out the sky so it's the same throughout? I've tried using the paintbrush tool at 20% opacity, but it's a little fidigty!!

The size restrictions make it harder to see what I mean!!

Any tips much appeciated!!

Many thanks
Simon

Lovely pano, Simon. Welcome to POTN.

Personally I wouldn't be bothered about the sky. It really doesn't show (at this size, at least), and in any case the colour of the sky does vary.

If what you've got (on a larger version of the pano) is a hard transition from one colour to another, that's indicative of differences in expsoure between shots. Best thing to do there, I think (assuming you don't want to go and re-shoot it), is to bring up the exposure in the offending shots before going into AutoStitch. Alternatively, you can try playing with the blending parameters in AutoStitch. It can achieve some very impressive results, as this thread shows, but it's a bit trial-and-error.

Finally, posting a larger version of your pano would certainly help us see any defects with it. This thread shows you how to do that.

Hi stuart, thanks for your help and the welcome! :)

You might be right, in the end, i might not bother with the sky as it's not that bad, plus the sky could well have been darker to the one side!! I used manual mode and manual WB. Each exposure was exposed correctly, so it could well be the sky was just darker there.

I'll try the tips and threads you've given me first though - i tried a function in autostich that increases the levels to levevl out the sky. I didn't try the 'blending' mode as you've suggested though. First time I've used autostitch!! Is there any figures inn blending mode I should try to level out the sky???

I'l post a larger version soon. It's on my laptop at home

Thanks again
Simon
