German postrock band (whatever that means) Tarwater (external link) played Atak. Basically two guys on stage with some instruments and some other stuff.

Myspace: Click (external link).

All images: Here (external link)

Lighting was contrasty but nice (aimed a bit low though), and there was smoke....

these guys are playing here in a couple of weeks. a friend of mine is a big fan but i'm not sure i'll make it (Psychic TV & Marissa Nadler are playing as well at a different club).

best of the set for me are 5, 7 and 8. 5 because it's a great intimate capture, and i like 7 and 8 as they are real solid full band shots. 3 is nice too w/ the floor-mounted spots pointing up.

Wow, some smoke on no1! :D

Looks like it worked to advantage on 3 though.

Awesome full stage shot too.

Nice set.

These are very good pics with excellent composition and framing... There is a "portray" of some drama and performer "focus", as the musician interprets his music...

Lovely shade of blue they have! Pity about the comb-over on the singer. For what you were working with I think these are great.

4 and 5 are awsome, Great vibrant colors, and framing, an i actually like where the Mic is in No.4.
Great work.

On #, 4, 5, & 6, he should part his hair down the middle... The comb over is cliche... (My barber "girl" did a comb over on me just a few minutes ago... I hate it...)

combovers are for balding guys; he looks to have a decent amount of hair left.

don't disparage his teutonic hair styling sense. :D

Thanks all!
Seems like #5 is most generally liked... Cost enough effort, but I don't think it's my favorite ;)

On the 'comb over': I don't think it's the same 'comb over' as on balding guys. It's more like having awfull long hair on the front of your head. Used to be very populair in the Gothic / New Wave scene... (been there, done that )

I like #1 and # 3 best, cause of the lighting and the action... Their facial expressions are best in these two images and in #5 too...

(RE: The comb over...I don't need it for quite a while yet... That's why I don't care for it)... but the glimpse of the eye from behind long hair combed to one side is sort of a "glamor" thing...
