i've been thru the rebel manual and can't find where it says how long to charge a new battery. anyone know?

So just out of habit @ the end of the day I put the battery on charge & leave it overnight. I've looked everywhere for charging times and have not found anything yet. $$$ in Canon Gear & Lighting Equipment
