I felt sorry for this young guy. I found him sitting in the trees all alone and looking like he had no idea what to do next. I got fairly close without him moving. He was still there when I left. I like his hair do.
He is quite large, a little larger than a robin.

Very nice shot Joe. It could be a Grackle, but after staring at this picture for awile, it almost looks like it could be a cowbird. That ear patch looks familiar, and the pattern of feathers on the shoulders. Not sure though.

I always get Cowbirds and Grackles confused - Mitch is probably right as he's seen both species I think, I haven't :-(

It's really hard to tell. What made me think cowbird is the head looks like it's just starting to turn brown. But, it's really just a guess. The bare skin by the eyes is throwing me off. :)

most mynahs ive seen have only yellow beaks that are smooth and waxy.
