How about Europe? Is it something like a prison open to the public?

Sorry guys, had to go bowling...
It is Europe and it is a place open to the public. Not a lighthouse. If you are not in shape, the walk up the stairs is a painful one. (I know):)

(edit) Im sorry...There is a charge to get in.

Ooo. Possible.

I was thinking Tower Bridge. I think yours may be more likely though.

I thought access (now) to the towers at the Houses of Parliament were extremely restricted.

However, if this is the Houses of Parliament it is not IMO "big ben" but more likely the Victoria Tower (the one at the other end of the building) which AFAIK was the only one that was ever open to the public.

PS For the record Big Ben is the primary bell though the name has become synonymous (sp?) with the clock tower. Hmmm! must go and check the name of that tower??? Edit: Just checked it is simply called the Clock Tower

PPS Only just catching up with POTN as we had a major BT cable fault on Tuesday that knocked out a couple of 1000 lines !!! But back up nice and quick thankfully :)

That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans :p

Its still up for grabs. When I was in London, the entire House of Parliament was restricted.
You ready for a clue?
